About the role
Reporting to the Senior Finance Analyst – Projects & Group Finance (and indirectly to the GM Finance), this role sits within a close-knit finance analyst team at Byrnecut's Head Office. You will support the delivery of group-wide financial obligations and improvement projects, working across tax, compliance, reporting, ERP and process improvement initiatives.

What you'll be doing
- Supporting the delivery of finance improvement projects, including coordination, documentation and testing activities
- Assisting with group-wide financial obligations across Australia and internationally, including tax, transfer pricing, banking and compliance
- Preparing and maintaining project documentation including action registers, status updates and implementation materials
- Contributing to ERP and systems improvement initiatives, including business requirements gathering and user acceptance testing
- Preparing financial analysis, reconciliations and reporting to support senior stakeholders and the executive team
- Coordinating across Finance, Shared Services and Technology teams to support aligned delivery of key initiatives
- Supporting continuous improvement across Finance processes, controls and ways of working
- Assisting with the management of external vendors and consultants where required
You are a detail-oriented and commercially curious finance professional with a strong work ethic and a genuine interest in how finance can drive better business outcomes. You're comfortable managing competing priorities, communicating clearly with stakeholders at different levels, and producing high-quality work in a structured, governed environment.
Essential experience & skills
- Experience in a finance analyst, finance operations or similar role within a corporate, mining or shared services environment
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously with a disciplined, organised approach
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with confidence engaging stakeholders across the business
- A collaborative approach and willingness to support the broader team on varied workstreams
- Sound judgement and a professional approach to confidentiality and governance
- Experience with ERP systems or exposure to finance systems implementation or process improvement initiatives
- Background in tax, compliance, or multi-entity consolidation and reporting
- Tertiary qualification in finance, commerce, accounting or a related discipline
- Progress toward or completion of CA/CPA (or equivalent professional qualification)
- Established, privately-owned mining contractor with a collaborative culture and a strong track record
- Exposure to a broad Finance function spanning tax, compliance, ERP, reporting and continuous improvement
- Work closely with experienced senior finance professionals and gain meaningful mentorship and development
- Stable, full-time role based in Perth with a team environment that values accountability and high-quality work
- A pathway to grow within the Finance function as the business continues to invest in its people and capabilities
