It's a role for someone who enjoys ambiguity, can build a business case from first principles, and is just as comfortable in a detailed model as they are in front of an executive audience.
What you'll be doing
- Building and owning robust investment cases and business cases, including NPV, IRR, sensitivity and scenario analysis.
- Translating complex financial concepts into clear narratives and recommendations for senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Partnering across the business to gather inputs, challenge assumptions, and pressure-test the logic behind proposed investments.
- Producing high-quality models in Excel and compelling, board-ready presentations in PowerPoint.
- Bringing structure and rigour to decisions where the path isn't yet defined.
- Deep expertise in investment case and business case modelling (NPV, IRR, sensitivity analysis).
- A proven ability to articulate complex financial concepts simply and persuasively to senior stakeholders.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills — modelling depth and presentation polish.
- Comfortable handling ambiguity and constructing business cases from first principles.
- A mining or resources background is preferred, but strong financial analysis credentials from sectors such as corporate finance, transactions, strategy or advisory can offset sector experience.
- A relevant professional qualification (e.g. CA, CPA, CFA) will be well regarded.
- A genuinely influential role shaping the investment decisions of an established ASX-listed business.
