Key Responsibilities
- Review payroll processes and outputs against legislative, award, and enterprise agreement requirements
- Conduct compliance checks and audits across payroll data, identifying and resolving discrepancies
- Reconcile payroll outputs to statutory obligations (PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax) and the general ledger
- Build and maintain Excel-based models and testing tools to detect errors, underpayments, or non-compliance
- Consolidate and validate payroll data across multiple systems to support compliance reporting
- Prepare compliance reports and dashboards for management and leadership
- Support internal and external audits with clean, well-structured, defensible data
- Solid background in payroll, with hands-on experience processing and compliance-checking payroll in a complex environment
- Strong working knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards/EAs, and superannuation obligations
- Advanced Excel skills — Power Query, pivot tables, XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH; VBA/macro experience highly regarded
- High attention to detail and confidence reconciling numbers across sources
- Comfortable working autonomously in a contract capacity
- Play a critical role in ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance for a well-established organisation
- Contract role with potential for extension for the right person
