About the role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role sits within a collaborative finance team at Byrnecut's Head Office. You will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, while partnering with operational stakeholders to provide meaningful insights that support business performance.

What you'll be doing
- Preparing monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes across multiple business units
- Partnering with operational teams to provide financial insights and performance analysis
- Monitoring project and cost performance, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement
- Assisting with cash flow forecasting and working capital management
- Supporting month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations and reporting
- Contributing to process improvements across finance systems, controls and reporting
- Assisting with compliance requirements, including tax and statutory reporting
- Collaborating with Finance, Operations and senior stakeholders to support decision-making
You are a commercially aware and detail-oriented finance professional with a strong understanding of management accounting principles. You enjoy working with data, engaging with stakeholders, and translating financial information into practical insights that drive performance.
Essential experience & skills
- Experience in a Management Accountant or similar role within a corporate, mining or industrial environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders
- A proactive, collaborative approach with a focus on continuous improvement
- High level of professionalism, integrity and attention to governance
- Experience in mining, contracting, or project-based environments
- Exposure to ERP systems and financial systems optimisation
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting and cost control in multi-entity organisations
- Tertiary qualification in finance, commerce or accounting
- CA/CPA qualification or working towards completion
- Established, privately-owned mining contractor with a collaborative culture and strong reputation
- Exposure to operational and financial aspects of a complex, growing business
