In this varied role, you will provide high-level administrative and secretarial support across our commercial practice groups, stepping in where needed to ensure the smooth operation of our teams.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Providing relief secretarial support across multiple teams
- Liaising professionally with clients and internal staff
- Preparation and formatting of legal documents
- Managing correspondence (emails, memos and letters)
- Monthly billing and time recording
- Diary and calendar management
- Opening, maintaining and closing matter files
- Managing electronic document systems
- Reception cover and support for other corporate services functions as required
- Meeting room and event set up, including organising catering, managing bookings, ordering stock and ensuring technology requirements are met
- General administrative support, including photocopying, scanning, binding and collating documents
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to work proactively and unsupervised
- A positive, can-do attitude and the ability to manage the workflows of multiple fee earners
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Word and PowerPoint, with working knowledge of Excel
- A typing speed of 60+ wpm
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience using document management and billing/time recording systems (e.g. FileSite, Expert or similar)
- A minimum of two years’ experience as a Legal Secretary, Preferably 4+
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and a strong sense of initiative
