The opportunity
This is a role for someone who's technically strong, quietly ambitious, and ready for something that actually means something.

A well-regarded not-for-profit organisation in Perth's eastern suburbs is looking for a Finance Manager to be a genuine right-hand to the Finance Lead. It's a hands-on role leading a small team, with real scope to own the function, improve processes, and grow with the business.
If you're a Senior Accountant who's been waiting for the right moment to step up — or a Finance Manager who wants to do more than maintain the status quo — this is worth a read.

What you'll be doing
  • Leading the monthly financial close — journals, reconciliations, financial statements end to end
  • Overseeing AP and AR, including payment batch approvals, billing accuracy, and aged balance reviews
  • Managing external reporting and statutory compliance — BAS, audit support, and other statutory lodgements
  • Leading, coaching, and developing a small team of finance professionals
  • Driving process improvement across month-end, reporting, and transactional finance
  • Partnering closely with the Finance Lead on emerging risks and opportunities
  • Working cross-functionally with payroll, funding, ICT, and other business units
What we're looking for
The ideal profile is someone coming out of audit or professional services (Big 4 or mid-tier) who also has some commercial experience under their belt — you understand what good controls look like, and you know how to apply that in a real business context.
  • CA or CPA qualified
  • Audit or professional services background — Big 4 or mid-tier preferred
  • Solid commerce experience — financial reporting, controls, or management accounting
  • Strong technical accounting across AASB, financial statements and indirect tax
  • Comfortable in an ERP environment
  • People management experience is desirable— this is a very hands-on role
  • NFP or NDIS sector experience is a bonus
The package
  • NFP salary packaging
  • 2 days working from home per week
  • Flexible start and finish times
  • Novated car option
  • Other discounts on offer
The culture
Down to earth, collaborative, and genuinely purpose-driven. The organisation exists to make life better for the people it supports, and that ethos runs through the team.
Your manager is warm, direct, and invested in doing things well. They're looking for a proactive 2IC they can trust.

How to apply
This is a confidential search. Apply via Seek with your CV and a brief cover note telling us what draws you to this kind of role. Alternatively email jodie.harris@huntermanning.com for a confidential chat.
