The Opportunity-

Hunter Manning have been engaged by a key client to recruit an  Assistant Accountant  to join their high-performing finance team within a large, multi-entity business headquartered in Perth. The role supports the broader corporate finance function and plays a pivotal role in delivering timely and accurate financial information, contributing to budgeting and forecasting processes, and supporting strategic business decision-making.

Key Requirements-
  • Manage core accounting functions including P&L and balance sheet reviews, accruals, prepayments, asset management, inter‑company reconciliations, and data integration between systems.
  • Deliver monthly financial reporting and insights, including variance, expense, revenue, salary, and cashflow analysis.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting while overseeing AP coordination, AR coverage, property leases, fleet, and credit card management.
  • Provide insurance and asset data, ensure accurate coding and compliance with budgets, and supervise the Accounts Assistant.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls and support compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Assist with ad hoc financial analysis, projects, and system improvement initiatives as required by senior management.

Key Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Progress toward CPA or CA qualification (or recently qualified).
  • Minimum 2–4 years’ experience in a similar role within a large corporate, shared services, or professional services environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with medium to large ERP systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and communicate financial information clearly.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Desirable Attributes
  • Experience in a multi-entity environment.
  • Hands on 2- 3 years accounting experience 
  • Familiarity with automation tools or financial systems upgrades.
