Hunter Manning have been engaged by a key client to recruit an Assistant Accountant
to join their high-performing finance team within a large, multi-entity business headquartered in Perth. The role supports the broader corporate finance function and plays a pivotal role in delivering timely and accurate financial information, contributing to budgeting and forecasting processes, and supporting strategic business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for group entities and consolidated accounts.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journals, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Contribute to the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts in collaboration with business unit stakeholders.
- Assist in corporate tax compliance and reporting, including GST, FBT, and income tax obligations.
- Liaise with external auditors during interim and annual audits, preparing working papers and responding to audit queries.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls and support compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Work closely with senior accountants, analysts, and operational teams to provide financial insights and support business decision-making.
- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis, projects, and system improvement initiatives as required by senior management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Progress toward CPA or CA qualification (or recently qualified).
- Minimum 2–4 years’ experience in a similar role within a large corporate, shared services, or professional services environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting standards.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with large ERP systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and communicate financial information clearly.
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Experience in a multi-entity environment.
- Part-qualified first mover out of public practice.
- Familiarity with automation tools or financial systems upgrades.
