Rhys brings a diverse and people-focused background into recruitment. Beginning his career as a qualified PE teacher and university lecturer, he later transitioned into university recruitment, where he gained valuable insight into the qualified accounting and finance market. His early career in education laid the foundations for his strong communication skills and ability to connect with people at all levels.
A natural people person, Rhys is known for his strong emotional intelligence and clear, confident communication style. He prides himself on building genuine, long-lasting relationships with candidates and clients, ensuring the recruitment process is professional, transparent, and genuinely enjoyable.
Originally from the mountainous valleys of Wales, with an accent that quickly gives it away. Rhys brings warmth, energy, and authenticity to everything he does.
Alongside his professional career, Rhys has an extensive background in football (soccer). As a qualified UEFA A Licence coach, he currently holds an Assistant Coach role with the U23s at Perth Glory FC, working closely with some of Western Australia’s best emerging talent and contributing to their development on and off the pitch.
When he’s not working, Rhys is most likely on the golf course. A +1 handicap golfer, he’s keen to grow his network and continue his golfing journey in Western Australia. Back in the UK, he was a winner of the Welsh Teams Championship 2024 and later represented Wales on the European stage in Bordeaux, France.
